No Esposa No Pez Vela

Well Kristen had to leave today so I had to say goodbye at 5:30 a.m. Then when I was un-tying the bow I was walking back to the cockpit and my foot slipped on the toe rail and there I go into the drink first thing in the morning. That was the start to my day. It could have been worse it could have been cold dirty water, or I could have had no dry clothes. Luckily the water was warm and clear, and I had clean dry clothes on the boat. That was the first time I have fallen all the way in the water. Not too bad for 6 years on the job. You just have to look at the bright side of things I guess and be able to laugh at yourself. Well the fishing sucked today. We were 0 for 3 on sailfish, and the Bonita's were vicious. Now I am back living on the boat and missing Kristen. I'll post some pictures of her stay. Oh, Carnival started yesterday and the Island is having a big throw down party. Anyway more tomorrow.

Lack of Post's

As you know Kristen is here. Unfortunately she leaves tomorrow. The fishing has been kind of slow. It was rough today so we came home early with no bites.

Kristen got here today, good fishing. We caught 13 today. Thats it.

Good Weather, Bad Fishing

Well the good thing is the weather is finally good. The bad thing is the sailfish are not biting, but the bonita's are more than willing to cooperate. The other good news is Kristen will be here tomorrow. I am getting ready to pack my bag. When we get in from fishing tomorrow I want to plug in the shore power cord, thank the people, get my tip, and grab my bag and go. It feels like I have been gone forever. I don't know how much posting I will do for the next week, but maybe I'll get some in.

Bueno

Good weather, good fishing, all is well. This is the prettiest day we have had in weeks. We started out fishing where we had been fishing the past few days. He had 6 bites right away and did not hook any. We trolled for a while longer with no action and decided a move was in order. As we were running north we heard some boats on the radio saying that they were bird fishing. When we got up there we were fishing the birds. We caught 9 before the birds, and sailfish left. Then we started getting a good trolling bite. We caught 16 by 2 o'clock and left for home. When we got in my mate and myself got in the golf cart and went to the far south end of the island to Tony's house. Tony is the bait man. We ended up getting a cooler full of bait, came back to the boat, cleaned it all and bagged it and put it in the freezer. Waited a little while and another bait man came to the dock. This time I was alone and got 5 gallons worth of bait. I finished cleaning that and it is currently sitting in brine. I will go bag and freeze it shortly. Tomorrow is Shrek's last day fishing with us, and I really want to get them good. I included a picture I took today. It is one of my favorites.

Tired

Well we fished again today. Another rough ride out. We could not get on the fish in the early in the morning, but by mid-morning we found them and started out going 11 for 11. Pretty good considering I only grabbed a rod once and they hooked all their own fish. By the way that one time I did grab a rod we ended up hooking a quad. Total on the day we caught 13, and it got calmer as the day went on. The sun was out and it actually got hot. The next few days we are supposed to have some pretty weather. Really anything is pretty compared to what it has been. Charlie Duerr is fishing with us again tomorrow. Tonight when we got in I rushed to get everything done, showered and had plans to meet up with the Italians for dinner. When I got out of the shower I was informed that a bait man was coming in a half hour. So I had to walk down to the restaurant and tell them not to wait and I could not join them as I had to go back to work. The work never ends down here. You are pretty much on call all the time. It is really starting to tire me out. Anyway no time for pictures tonight I'm exhausted. More tomorrow.
